Roundtable Lunch to Discuss Healthcare Reform | Business
The Washington State Policy Center is hosting a lunch and roundtable discussion on health care in Eastern Washington and on how the Affordable Healthcare Act will effect businesses and individuals in the region.
Avik Roy, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute and a writer for Forbes will cover the topic of consumer healthcare under the new bill. Dr. Karen Summer, health care adviser to the U.S. House of Representatives Majority Conference will be giving updates on what is happening with healthcare on the federal level and how Congress is working with the legislation.
Sen. Linda Evans Parlette, a Senate Health Care Committee Member, will be taking the healthcare discussion down the state level and present on what businesses in Eastern Washington can expect to see. Each presenter will spend about five minutes on their topics.
This will be followed by a round table discussion moderated by KXLY's Nadine Woodward. There will also be a period where audience members can ask questions.
