Fairmount Acquires Valley Cemeteries | Business
The Fairmount Memorial Association, which owns five cemeteries in Spokane, announced that it has acquired the Opportunity Cemetery Association which has locations in the Spokane Valley.
Both cemetery associations are non-profit, family own organizations that have been in the Spokane area for over 100 years. The merger will make Fairmount the largest, locally owned, full service cemetery, funeral home and crematory operation in the Northwest.
Fairmount will now be operating the Pines Cemetery and South Pines Cemetery and has plans for immediate improvements at both properties.
“We're pleased with what we see and with Fairmount’s plans for the Pines and the South Pines Cemeteries.” said Neil Prescott, Vice President of the Opportunity Cemetery Association board of trustees. “With their expertise and resources they will be able to do many of the things we had only hoped to accomplish. This change will be of real benefit the the Valley.”
“We are so proud to operate the two cemeteries located in the Valley, “said Denny York, President and CEO of Fairmount Holdings Inc. “We want to assure everyone that the care and attention we give to our Fairmount Cemeteries will be implemented immediately at Pines Cemetery and South Pines Cemetery.”
