Spokane named one the most generous cities in America | Community Spirit
Spokane has been named one the most generous cities in America by Craftsy, a company that specializes in online craft courses. Crafty conducted a nationwide survey to determine which cities were most likely to gift handmade goods.
The responses of 10,000 crafters found that Spokane was the third most generous city, and was the city most likely to give someone a handmade gift. The survey looked at the time crafters spend each week on handmade gifts, the number they give and the who they are most likely to give them to.
"Makers are giving and benevolent people. They're patient with their time and open-hearted with their projects," said John Levisay, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Craftsy. "This first-of-its-kind ranking measures generosity based on the time people across the country spend creating thoughtful gifts, along with their commitment to gifting their creations.
Manchester, New Hampshire was named the most generous city, and Port St. Lucie, Florida was second. Seattle and Portland rounded out the list at number 24 and 25.
