City asks for help naming new plaza | Community Spirit
Spokane has a new park, and City Hall has a new plaza. While the name for Huntington Park has already been claimed, the plaza needs a name and City Hall wants your help.
The City says in their blog post about the name that they’re looking for name ideas that “honor, depict and celebrate Spokane.” Letting City Hall know about your idea is as simple as posting a photo on Instagram.
Head on down to the new plaza located next to City Hall and take a photo of yourself holding a sign with your name idea on it. It doesn’t have to be a fancy sign, just make it so you can clearly read the proposed name. Then head to social media! Post your pic on Instagram, Twitter or Instagram and tag @spokanecity. Include a brief explanation and what the name means to you and why you think it’s relevant to Spokane. You can even post a 15 second video to present your idea!
Not a social media aficionado? You can email your photo and explanation to firstname.lastname@example.org or submit your idea at the My Spokane service desk in City Hall or at any City Council meeting in May.
The deadline to submit your name idea for the new plaza is May 31st.
If you haven’t checked out the City’s new blog, you should. It’s full of great information about things happening in City Hall and around Spokane.
