Teams needed to run the TC50 | Community Spirit
It's time for runners to sign up for the 4th annual TC50 Relay Race! The name “TC50” stands for Teen Closet and... 50 miles! The race consists of a 50 mile course, consisting of 10 legs (they are not equal in length). Spokane area high schools are used as start/finish, water stops and transitions. The focus is on the high schools, because that is the age group most served by Teen Closet.
The race is Saturday, June 14th. Teams of up to 10 can compete. All ages and athletic abilities are welcome. The cost is $300 per team up to 10 runners, $200 for high school teams. There is an increase in registration fee if your team signs up after May 31st.
Besides a great experience and the satisfaction of helping a great organization, runners will receive a TC50 technical running shirt, and a slew of goodies. There are prizes given to top teams in a variety of categories, and a traveling trophy for the winning high school team.
The run kicks off at Mount Spokane High School and ends with a party at Rogers H.S. At the finish, runners and volunteers will be treated to Papa Murphy's pizza, Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, and a free concert by the band Salty Dog!
If you aren't a runner but would like to get involved, the TC50 needs lots of volunteers to keep our runners safe and on the course (and cheer them on!).
You can register for the race and volunteer at www.teencloset.org.
This race is one of the main fund raisers for Teen Closet, a free boutique for foster and homeless teenagers in Eastern WA and North ID. It's located in Spokane Valley and since it's inception, serves hundreds of children identified by social workers, courts, school counselors, etc, each year.
