Cat film festival comes to Spokane

Cats have taken over the internet and now they have their very own film festival. The Internet Cat Video Film Festival is coming to Spokane in January and an internet cat celebrity will be making a special appearance.

The Internet Cat Video Film Festival was started by the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis and drew 10,000 cat fans in its first year. Now in its second year, the festival was so large it had to be moved to the Minnesota State Fair. The festival is on tour through 2014 and will be showing at the Knitting Factory in Spokane on January 16th.

Cat celebrity Lil Bub will greeting fans during the Spokane showing. Lil Bub, known for her permanent kitten like appearance, posts regular cat videos and now has her own merchandise line. Nearly 70,000 people subscribe to Lil Bub’s Youtube channel.

Tickets for the Internet Cat Video Film Festival are between $20 and $35 and are available HERE. While the event celebrates people’s beloved family cats, no animals are actually allowed at the screening.
