The Spokane Police Department is connecting with the community in a new way. Starting next week, Spokane residents will be able to chat with officers about their questions and concerns over a cup of coffee.
Coffee with a Cop is a national program that has been implemented in 175 cities and 36 states. Supported by the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, the program offers uniques way for community members to get to know their police department in an informal setting.
The Spokane Police Department says “the goal of the program is to increase community trust, police legitimacy and partnership building”.
