Providence offering free Bloomsday training clinics | Events
Bloomsday is just over two months away and whether you’re a seasoned runner or hitting the course for the first time it’s time to start training. Providence Health Care wants to help you get in shape for the biggest foot race in the world.
Providence and Group Health are offering free training clinics every Saturday morning starting March 15th. Each clinic will start with a guest speaker discussing training topics and a warm-up with a personal trainer. The group will then hit the road, completing a mile on week one and adding an additional mile each week.
The clinics will be held at Spokane Falls Community College and the first fews runs will be on the campus. Once Bloomsday trainees hit their fourth mile mark, the course will move to the nearby Centennial Trail. Volunteers from Providence Health Care and Group Health will be on hand to provide water stations, first aid and to act as crossing guards.
