Dogs need blood too | Families
Our blood donations are lifesavers for humans.. but, dog blood donations can also save other canines.
In about 6 weeks (on February 9th) Spokane will have it's first ever Dog People Blood Drive. The PEOPLE donations are for the Inland Northwest Blood Center and our community and once your dog becomes a donor, that blood is stored at the Pet Emergency Clinic Blood Bank for our community.
Inland Northwest Blood Center will have its bus parked out front of Lincoln Heights Veterinary Clinic at 2829 East 27th Avenue on Spokane's South Hill, so that PEOPLE can donate and Pet Emergency Clinic Blood Bank will be here to do initial blood typing and temperament testing on DOGS.
This will decide whether your DOG qualifies to be a donor. For your DOG to be eligible they must be:
- More than 60 pounds
- 1-6 years of age
- Happy & healthy
If you are interested in donating PEOPLE blood and/or DOG blood please call the clinic @ 509.535.3551 with your name and email address so they can get you signed up. Once you are signed up you will get an email as the BLOOD DRIVE gets closer with specifics on what time you should be there.
