Spokane, Palouse named two of the most underrated places in the US

Spokane and the small town of Palouse have been named two of the most underrated places in the USA by the website Global Yodel. Site users, or Yodelers, nominated their towns for the 18 Most Underrated Places in the USA list.

Global Yodel is a travel website that believes the best people to tell you about travel destinations are the people who live there. The website says locals are the ones who are truly in the know about what makes their cities great.

Palouse was described as “a town where time stopped in all the right places” by Mary Rothlisberger who calls the small town home. Rothlisberger says that Palouse is her favorite place in the world and it’s because of the people.

“Palouse is a town of tall tales and long poems, stories told thick with romance and heavy with hardship,” Rothlisberger wrote about her town. “Palouse is a town where all the best days start.”

While most of the article on Spokane is about Cory Crawford’s Instagram photos, the Spokane resident did make some good points that put it on the list as an underrated city. Crawford describes Spokane as an underdog.

“Although it sits in the shadow of Seattle and is therefore overlooked, it has a lot to offer tourists, sportsmen, city and country folks alike.”

Crawford also offered up some pro-tips on Spokane, like the proper pronunciation of Spo-Can. He also directed visitors to the Satellite Diner and Casper Fry for the best drinks and food in town.

Other cities on the list included Anacortes, Detroit and Seward, Alaska. To see the complete list from Global Yodel click HERE.
