Survive Spokane's Winter? Check. South Pole? | Schools

A wise man once tweeted, "Survive winter in Spokane, you can survive anywhere." In a photograph posted to Facebook by Gonzaga University, a Gonzaga fan waves the Bulldog's flag at the "Geographic South Pole". 

His name is Jack Green. He's a Spokane resident who just so happens to be a huge Zags basketball fan. He didn't go to school there, but after this stunt, he's now an honorary alumn in the eyes of Bob Finn, alumni director for the university. Finn says he supplied Green with the flag just before his big trip about a month ago. The flag traveled with Green all the way to Antarctica where it was photographed on January 25th 

It was -43 degrees.
