(Updated 3:04 p.m.) - Spokane Police are investigating a weekend assault that took place in the area of Riverfront Park and may be tied to a missing person incident. They're unable to connect the two investigations at this time, but their search continues.
The majority of Tuesday morning and afternoon, Spokane Police and the Spokane County Sheriff's Office dive team has been investigating the river in search of evidence that may lead to some outcome. Forensic evidence has been collected near the Loof Carrousel. A body was later found in the river identified as a male. It matches the description of the missing man, but there is no other confirmation regarding the identity of the body.
Romero Vivit has been missing since early Saturday morning - last seen in the Riverfront Park. He was also seen leaving Revolver Bar on Riverside and Bernard that same evening. A missing persons report was filed by family members after locating articles of bloody clothing near the river.
